Chinkin is a traditional Japanese decorative technique in which delicate motifs are engraved by hand into Urushi lacquer and enhanced with precious metal powders.
At Atelier CHINKINART, I explore this ancestral craft through a personal and contemporary artistic language. Each piece is lacquered and engraved by hand, with patience, precision and deep respect for the Japanese origins of Chinkin.
Created individually in my atelier in France, my works bring together traditional materials, freehand engraving and narratives inspired by nature, culture and human experience.
